
While searching the internet for the typcial fast food fare I came across Subway and their menu. I see that just by avoiding the sauces and extra cheese you can save hundreds of calories. Skip the chips and soda too. Grab a glass of water, it will be better for you and you'll save some pocket change.
Let's take for instance their innocent looking wrap. Just the ranch dressing they smear on it will cost you 120 calories and a whopping 13 grams of fat. Instead load up on the vegetables. They taste great and have very few calories.
Want to add cheese to your sub? Count on adding 40 to 60 extra calories and up to another 5 grams of fat! I bet you thought they counted the cheese in the calories! I did too until I looked it up.
Bread isn't created equally either. Honey oat and italian herbs and cheese 6 inch has 50 more calories than wheat and you can add another fat gram in there too.
So what's my favorite sammie? The turkey breast on wheat win hands down. All the veggies with cracked pepper and my latest addition of oregano. No sauce is needed, it's delicious and filling too.
